About Three Birds and Teak Teak is a very hard, densely grained wood with very high oil content. The unique combination of these characteristics makes teakwood naturally resistant to moisture, rot, warping, shrinking, splintering, insects, fungus, marine borers and termites making it an ideal material for the production of outdoor furniture. While color and grain of each piece of Three Birds furniture might vary, they ensure consistency within the piece by selecting timber of similar color and grain on a piece by piece basis.
